CONFERENCE DINNER - will be held at the
River Rooms, Crown Casino
on Thursday 19 July 2007 . Guests will enjoy pre-dinner drinks and a three-course dinner. The Conference Dinner ticket is included in the registration fee for a full delegate attending the Coasts & Ports Conference. If you require additional tickets, please indicate when completing your registration form.
INFORMAL DINNER OPTION – if you would like to join colleagues at the Portland Hotel for an informal dinner on Tuesday 17 July 2007 please indicate attendance on the registration form. This is a ‘pay as you go' event.
AFL FOOTBALL MATCH – Essendon and Collingwood are playing at the MCG on Saturday 20 July 2007 . If you are interested in attending please indicate your attendance on the Registration Form. This is a ‘pay as you go' event.
ACCOMPANYING PERSONS
Accompanying persons are spouses and partners of registered delegates. Accompanying Persons must register as an 'Accompanying Person' on a Delegate's Registration Form and pay the applicable social ticket fee if attending any social functions.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation at the Crown Promenade has been secured at highly competitive rates for delegates. A deposit of the first night's room fee must be included in your registration. Hotel Cancellation Policy - any change to a reservation must be notified in writing to the Conference Secretariat, CLEMS and not directly to the hotel . Notification of accommodation cancellation must be received is received in writing 30 days prior to arrival otherwise the deposit will be forfeited in all instances as per Hotel Policy. A Tax Invoice will be issued by the hotel on check-out.
Check in/Check out Times - the standard check in time at hotels is 2pm onwards. The standard check out time is 10am . If a room is required prior to this time the Conference Secretariat should be advised. In the absence of such advice being received hotels may charge a fee equal to one days rate.
PRIVACY ACT
Coasts & Ports 2007 will collect and store information you provide in this Registration Form for the purposes of enabling us to register your attendance at the conference, to assist with administrative and planning purposes and for future planning and development of the conference and other events, to facilitate your requirements in relation to the conference and to allow the compilation and analysis of statistics. The information that you provide in the Registration form and information provided at any other time during the conference, including without limitation any feedback obtained during the conference, will be used by Coasts & Ports Conference to offer, provide and continue to improve its conference and other services. Coasts & Ports may disclose some of the information that is collected in the Registration Form such as your name, organisation and its location and your email address to other Coasts & Ports delegates and (unless you object in writing to us) to conference sponsors and exhibitors for marketing purposes.
The Privacy Act 2001 provides that, before your name, organization, state and email address details can be published in the list of the conference delegates for distribution to fellow delegates or any other party, you must give your consent. If you DO NOT wish to have your name and organization, state and email address included in the Delegate List please indicate this on the registration form
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Your registration and payment will be acknowledged in writing with confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form. Your registration will not be processed or confirmed if payment does not accompany your form. The registration form is an approved Tax Invoice by the Australian Tax Office.
PAYMENT METHODS
Full payment should accompany Registration Forms. Payment may be made by personal cheque, money order or bank draft (accepted in Australian Dollars only drawn on any major branch of an Australian Bank) and made out to Coasts & Ports Conference. Please print delegate name and organization on back and forward to the Conference Secretariat. Mastercard, Visa, AMEX are accepted. All prices shown in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST. Please note all transactions on your credit card, via the Secure On-line Payment System, appear on your statement as MIE Software Pty Ltd Port Melbourne.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Conference Secretariat - CLEMS by email to coastsandports2007@clems.com.au . Cancellations before 30 March 2007 will incur a A$100.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations after 30 March 2007 cannot be accepted, however transfer of registration to another person will be accepted. All refunds will be paid at the conclusion of the conference. VISAS
International visitors to Australia require a visa or an electronic travel authority. It is the responsibility of individual delegates to ensure documentation is correct and complete before your journey is commenced. Information on obtaining visas or electronic travel authorities can be found on the website www.immi.gov.au/eta/index.htm.
GOODS & SERVICES TAX (GST)
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a broad-based tax of 10% on most goods, services and other items sold or consumed in Australia. For international visitors, a tax refund may be sought at the airport for goods purchased beyond the value of $300 and which are carried with them in their hand luggage when leaving the country. A tax refund is not available for goods or services consumed in Australia therefore the GST component of conference registrations fees, accommodation, tours, etc. are not claimable.
INSURANCE
Participants carry their own risk for personal injury or loss of property, including baggage, during the conference. We strongly recommend that, at the time of booking your travel and tours, you take out a travel insurance policy. This policy should take into account loss of deposit through cancellation, medical insurance, loss or damage to personal property, and financial loss incurred through disruption to accommodation or travel arrangements due to business failures, strikes, or other industrial action. The organisers are in no way responsible for any claims concerning insurance.
DISCLAIMERS
The Coasts & Ports 2007 Conference Organising Committee including the Conference Secretariat, CLEMS, will not accept liability for damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying persons or loss or damage to their personal property as a result of the conference or related events. |
