1. Extended Abstract - up to one page - is required in PDF Format. It is this abstract which will be included in the Book of Abstracts. Please download the Extended Abstract template at www.coastsandports2007.com.au/callforpapers.php and save it to your computer. Submit your Extended Abstract in a PDF Format to Email coastsandports2007@clems.com.au no later than 14 May 2007.
2. It is CRITICALLY IMPORTANT that your PDF file is named in accordance with your Paper ID, for example: Extended Abstract Paper 203

CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE
Full paper must be formatted with the use of this Word Template [download]. Full paper submission should be in PDF format (file size limit up to 2 meg). If an MS Word document rather than a PDF of the paper is submitted, the Conference Secretariat will convert your document to a PDF, but will not take any responsibility if the PDF does not match the submitted word document file in content or format). Papers will be limited to 6 pages in 2 column format using 10 point Times New Roman font.
Extended Abstract – up to one page - must be formatted with the use of this Word Template [download]. Refer to Step 2 for instructions.
Presenting authors will be required to register and pay the conference fee
by 24 May 2007 to ensure that their paper/s are included in the final program. Each registrant may present up to 2 papers.
Only original material should be submitted
Commercial presentations with no new research/development content, and papers where supporting data or a technical description cannot be given for proprietary reasons will not be accepted for presentation at this conference
Papers should contain enough detail to clearly convey the approach and the results of the research
Government and company clearance to present and publish should be final at the time of submittal
Final acceptance of the full length paper will be based on full peer review.
REVIEW, NOTIFICATION AND PROGRAM PLACEMENT
To ensure a high-quality conference, all submissions will be reviewed by the Coasts & Ports Technical Program Committee for technical merit and suitability of content. The TPC may require full paper revision before approving, and reserve the right to reject for presentation any paper that does not meet content or presentation expectations. The decision of Coasts & Ports TPC on whether to accept a presentation is final.
Applicants will be notified of submission acceptance by e-mail no later than 20 April 2007. Final placement in an oral session is subject to the Technical Program Committee's discretion. Instructions for oral presentations will be sent to you by email. All accepted papers require presentation at the meeting.
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. The Conference Managers will not be held responsible for paper submissions not received via the website or for submission errors caused by Internet service outages, hardware or software delays, power outages or unforeseen events. Authors will receive an email acknowledgement immediately after submitting their paper. Please contact the Conference Managers if this does not occur coastsandports2007@clems.com.au
We assume that the presenting author will submit the paper. If this is not the case, please advise the Conference Secretariat to amend the submission details, and also ensure that any future correspondence regarding the paper is forwarded to the presenting author.
Please note final paper acceptance will be subject to a full peer review.
AWARDS
The Kevin Stark Award - The Award is in the form of a personalised bronze medal, suitably engraved in the name of the recipient. The Award is made on the basis of the quality of submitted papers to the biennial Australasian Conference on Coastal and Ocean Engineering. All accepted papers, with their authors, automatically qualify for consideration of the Award unless indicated to the contrary by the authors.
The PIANC Young Author Award - The PIANC Young Author's Award consists of free membership to PIANC Australia for 2 years. The winning paper will eligible for publication in the PIANC Bulletin, and will also be eligible for the PIANC International Gustav Williams Award. The author should be no more than 35 years of age at the date of the Conference, a citizen of either Australia or New Zealand , and prepared to present the paper at the Conference. The paper should be directly related to the Ports and Harbour section, and the theme of the paper should be well developed for application. The paper should preferably be by a single author, although where there is more than one author, the youngest will receive the award.
Author/s should indicate that they would like to be considered for an award when submitting their papers.
Doug N. Foster Memorial Fellowship Fund (D.N. FOSTER AWARD)
In recognition of Doug Foster's contribution to Australian coastal engineering, the National Committee on Coastal & Ocean Engineering of Engineers Australia created the Doug N. Foster Memorial Fellowship Fund (D.N. Foster Award) in September, 2001.
The Fellowship Fund is to encourage engineering students to pursue career opportunities in coastal and/or ocean engineering. Up to 4 Awards will be offered to final year undergraduate engineering students on a biannual basis linked to the Australasian Coastal and Ocean Engineering Conference.
Each student winning an Award will receive a certificate which is conferred by the Engineers Australia, free registration and up to $1000 worth of travel and accommodation at the winners' discretion, to attend the Australasian Coastal & Ocean Engineering Conference.
The transfer of copyright from author/s to Coasts & Ports 2007 must be clearly stated to enable Coasts & Ports 2007 to publish the submitted work in the Conference Proceedings to be produced on CD-ROM. The copyright assignment applies to authors wishing to submit papers for presentation.
